Our Story

Welcome to our home.

I grew up on the Cape just across Vineyard Sound in Falmouth. I always loved taking the ferry over to the Vineyard as a kid. There was something magical about that 45 minute ferry ride. It was a way to completely disconnect from everything on the mainland and to unwind. When Patrick and I met, one of our first trips together was to Martha's Vineyard. He quickly came to appreciate its charm and (eventually) asked me to marry him in Edgartown.  While visiting the Island what we both loved most was the tranquility of up island life in Aquinnah, Menemsha and Chilmark. The secluded beaches away from the crowds, breath taking views and quaint villages were the perfect counter to our busy lives in Boston.

We dreamed of one day owning a home here.

Ten years, three kids and one pandemic later we made the plunge in 2020  and now welcome you to our home.

We hope you, your family and friends find it to be as special as we have.

This home and its potential spoke to us from the moment we saw it. Its unexpected water views invite reflection.

We look forward to welcoming you to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle to reconnect with your family and your self in Aquinnah.

If privacy, sandy beaches, bike rides, bike ferries, great food, fresh seafood and sun sets on the beach are what you looking for,

then you have found your destination!

Reviews from Our Guests

Jessica H, June 27, 2021

"We spent a delightful week at Christina and Patrick's house in late June, and could not have chosen a better place.

The  house is immaculate, impeccably furnished, and beautifully located near  Gay Head. It is quiet and beautiful, well-lit and well-stocked, and the  sheets on the beds are the most comfortable we've ever slept in.

Truly a special house on a special Island: we can not recommend it highly enough"

"Beautiful Aquinnah house. Spotless on arrival. Amazing views from the deck especially at sunset. The house and the deck sit up high so you do feel like you are in the trees.  They also invested in a great BBQ and the deck is an outdoor living room.  Close to the beaches which are amazing. I loved the outdoor shower to complete the beach experience!

Will be back as soon as I can, I am already missing it!"

"The view from the back deck is spectacular at  all hours of the day and night, you really do feel like your in the  treetops! We were there for the 4th and were too lazy to drive into town  for the fireworks so we enjoyed the mainland fireworks from the back  deck. So much wildlife and birds to enjoy and it's pretty quiet. The  brand new grill and indoor amenities made cooking and grilling a breeze.  Having an outdoor shower is essential for us and theirs was the best,  very clean, large, private and had great water pressure. The house was  clean from top to bottom, with nice furniture inside and beautiful deck  furniture and landscaping outside. Very close to Lobsterville and  Philbin beaches where we got a week pass. When you don't feel like  cooking or driving too far, Gay Head Light is has some great little  places for coffee and quick meals. We've been looking for a rental to go  back to each year that 'checks all the boxes' and we have found it!"

"Fabulous home. Very clean and close to Philbin  Beach. Great deck and views of sunsets. We travel to the vineyard every  summer and Tashtego Tree House is our favorite. Slept great all bedrooms  have AC and very comfortable beds and bedding. Comfortable home. We  will definitely be returning."

"We just finished up a week at Tashtego's Tree  House and our stay was definitely one to remember! The location alone is  so great; Aquinnah is our favorite part of the island and the house is  very close to Gay Head Lighthouse and local beaches. The house is very  comfortable; nice cushioned seating on the deck with water views as well  as a nice teak dining set was the percent place to have morning coffee  and also to relax after a day at the beach. The kitchen is well  equipped; the Keurig machine also having a pot feature worked well for  us. The beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept on at a rental  and the bedding is very nice quality.  The outside shower is spacious  with strong water pressure.  All these things added up to an amazing  vacation in Aquinnah! We highly recommend staying at Tashtego's Tree  House!"'
